Vito Rizzuto's Last Deal — Canada's Mafia boss inside Caribbean casino shortly before his
On Aug. 14, 2013 — just 131 days before he died suddenly in Montreal — Vito Rizzuto, the Mafia boss of Montreal and the most powerful mob boss Canada has ever known, had meetings inside a casino in the Dominican Republic. His presence on the casino floor was caught on the security's omniscient video cameras.
This is the footage of him strolling through the casino like he owns the joint.
Vito Rizzuto entered the fray of a bitter dispute over a US$112-million investment in Caribbean casinos by Michael DeGroote, one of Canada’s wealthiest businessmen and a renowned philanthropist. It was money given to three business partners: Francesco and Antonio Carbone, two businessman brothers from Woodbridge, Ont., who jointly held 85%; and Andrew Pajak, who owed 15%..
Details of the bizarre shenanigans are in my report in the National Post, available here: http://natpo.st/1yF4ZbE.
And details on something else Vito Rizzuto was up to on his trips to the Dominican Republic are found in my story from Sicily here: http://natpo.st/1yO5ehS
